Professional Training and Development

RA provides training for professionals and human services workers to develop specialist counselling, mediation and management skills in the area of relationships.

Training is provided from basic to advanced professional competency levels.

Types of training programs offered by Relationships Australia:

  • counselling and couples therapy
  • sexual concerns counselling
  • family dispute resolution
  • relationship education and group work facilitation
  • supervisor training
  • family violence intervention
  • specialist tailored relationship skills
  • problem gambling intervention.

Note: not all training programs are offered in all states/territories. Check your state for available programs/courses.

The Australian FDR Training Group

Before 1 July 2009, every registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner must gain a minimum of three specified competencies from the Vocational Graduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution (CHC80207) in order to maintain their registration.

Subsidised training and assessment programs and recognition pathways for these competencies will be offered to eligible practitioners by the Australian FDR Training Group from March to June 2009.
